What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love seeing the 'aha!' moments in students when they finally understand a tough concept. Seeing a student gradually progressing over time is also a very satisfying process. Moreover, giving each student a personalised experience ensures that it's never a boring job for me. Answering each unique question allows me to see a fresh perspective on the topic being discussed at the time.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
-I am an electrical engineering student studying at UNSW. Hence, I always try to connect the concepts that we are discussing into real world scenarios.
-I always teach complex concepts in the simplest way possible.
-I am very patient and approachable. I aways encourage students to ask all their questions and clear their doubts within the session.
-I am a firm believer in encouraging critical thinking in students. The best way to improve in mathematics is to solve questions on your own. Hence, I always try to guide students into solving the questions by themselves.
-I give each student a personalised learning experience depending on their speed, learning style etc.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should always be there to support a student throughout their academic journey by preparing them for examinations and more importantly teach them in a way to get them hooked into learning mathematics. Another vital role is to build confidence in a student by doing practice questions and papers.

About Senuka
My experience as a tutor
I have been tutoring for more than two years now and had the privilege of tutoring students from all over the globe including countries such as Italy, England, Sri Lanka and Australia. this international experience allowed me to adapt my teaching style for students with different learning needs. I conducted these classes both online and in-person which strengthened my ability to interact with students in different settings. I focus on building a supportive and interactive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence, master key concepts, and reach their academic goals.
My teaching philosophy
My teaching philosophy focuses on allowing students to have a full knowledge of the content rather than merely having them memorize equations. I believe that students are actually learning when they use critical thinking and ask the "why?" questions. I want to create a learning environment where students feel free to experiment with ideas and make connections in order to enhance their problem-solving skills.
International Perspective and Communication Skills
With experience teaching learners from several countries in both online and face-to-face settings, Senuka understands how to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Fluent in English and Sinhala, he creates an inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported. Parents can trust that their child will benefit from his global perspective as well as his commitment to clear communication.
