What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Math has always been a subject close to my heart. I understand that it can sometimes feel complex and overwhelming, which is why I find it incredibly fulfilling to help simplify concepts and make them easier for others to grasp. There's a real joy in seeing someone gain confidence and understanding through my guidance. Tutoring also allows me to connect with people from different age groups and cultural backgrounds, which I truly enjoy. It's not just about teaching --it's about meaningful communication, building rapport, and making learning a positive experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe strong communication and the ability to build genuine rapport are key to effectively tutoring younger students. I believe I naturally bring these skills to the table. I focus on delivering lessons in a clear, engaging way that encourages participation and curiosity. Creating a warm, open environment is also important to me, so students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts. approach every task with dedication, whether big or small, and I'm committed to giving my time and effort to support each student's learning journey.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
School can be challenging, especially when much of the learning comes from textbooks, lectures, and independent reading. As a tutor, I believe it's important to provide personalized support that complements their day-to-day schooling. A tutor's role goes beyond simply reviewing content. We help bridge the gap between what is taught in class and what the student may not yet fully understand. Most importantly, a tutor should help build the student's confidence and belief in their own ability to learn and succeed.

About Maria Rozanne
Banker and Marketer Turned Tutor | 10 Years in Finance | MBA Student in Sydney
I have 10 years of experience in banking and finance and am currently pursuing my MBA here in Sydney. Math has always been a big part of my life—both in school and throughout my career—so I’m excited to share that passion with younger students. I love helping kids build confidence and a strong foundation in maths, while doing something I genuinely enjoy on the side.
Top Student in Maths: Byproduct of Tutoring and Resilience (with a bit of whining)
I was fortunate to have amazing tutors growing up, and I eventually became a tutor myself. It taught me that learning is not just about academics—it’s also about mentorship and mindset. School can be tough, but with the right support, everything can change. I’d love the opportunity to be that support for students and help them grow in confidence, just like I experienced. I’d also love to be a listening ear when things get challenging (I’m a bit of a ranter myself—but we power through!).
