What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Helping the person visualise and understand why the path to the answer makes sense rather than memorising the formula. It is incredibly rewarding once they feel like they understand the material you feel grateful that you were able to help them understand.
Additionally, for subjects such as Biology and Earth and Environmental Science it is exciting talking about something I'm passionate about with someone studying the course (people are not usually not that excited about rocks or genes, unfortunately).
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my greatest strengths is breaking down and drawing/plotting out the path visually to solving a problem.
If a student doesn't understand me, I try a different path to explain until they can solve a similar problem on their own.
In terms of English/Science tutoring, I believe an assest I contribute to tutoring would be my editing and marking skills. Once a student has written the answer to a question, I am able to explain where they may have lost marks and how to change their answers to suit the needs of the question/module/verb.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To help the student love learning and feel like they genuinely want to continue their education because they want to and not because they feel forced by any social pressures. Also to help them figure out what kind of field they would like to pursue as a career they will enjoy.
