What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when something clicks for a student. When they go from feeling confused to confident. I love being part of that process and knowing that I helped make a difficult concept more understandable.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strengths as a tutor lie in the way I've been taught in school. Just recently, I was tutoring my sister in standard math, and she was struggling with, what I thought, were the simplest topics. It made me realise how valuable the teaching was at my school and how my teachers took the time to break things down clearly, whereas at other schools, students are often left to figure things out on their own with just a textbook. It became clear to me that my education was a privilege, a privilege that I want to share with others. So I'd say my strengths are breaking down concepts.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing for a tutor would be to slow down and make sure the student actually understands what they are trying to comprehend. This comes from when I used to get tutored for the IB and we wouldn't spend enough time on the simple things, and it would become a problem later on in the year. So I think it’s crucial to build a strong foundation early on, even if it means spending more time on the basics
