What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and helping students evolve their learning, and I believe it not only contributes to the student's grades from a short-term perspective, but also contributes to the improvement of the future.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

One of my largest strengths as a tutor is my flexibility. I'm able to adapt and tailor classes to suit how each student learns. Additionally, when teaching, I also place an emphasis on understanding rather than simply memorising, which benefits student's significantly more and allows the content to be applied to a variety of situations.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is tailor learning to the student. Not everyone learns the same way, and I think it's very demotivating when student's feel they can't understand something, when in reality the way the information is presented plays a large role in succesful learning.

About Ameenah

Psychology student who understands how students think

Ameenah is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology, giving her a strong understanding of how young people learn, stay motivated, and manage anxiety around schoolwork and exams. She uses this background to break tasks into manageable steps and to explain ideas in different ways until they click. This tutor is especially good at building students’ confidence, helping them speak up about what they find hard and turning that into a practical plan for improvement in Maths and English.

School-based experience and classroom support

Through her role supporting staff in a college environment, Ameenah has helped prepare classroom materials, organise digital resources, and manage timetables, so she knows how schools operate day to day. This experience means she can align tutoring with what teachers expect, from homework routines to assessment tasks. She is used to working with a wide range of students and families, responding to enquiries with patience and clarity, and helping young learners feel comfortable and supported.

Calm, organised and great with communication

Ameenah brings excellent communication skills from working in busy, people-focused roles, where she had to explain information clearly, listen carefully, and stay calm under pressure. She uses these strengths in tutoring sessions, checking that students truly understand before moving on and encouraging them to ask questions. With strong organisation skills and a Working With Children Check, First Aid training, and a current Police Check, this tutor offers a safe, reliable and friendly learning environment for primary and high school students.
