What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I think that I would enjoy seeing the growth that my students show as a result of both their own effort and my help. This seems very rewarding as a variety of students with different backgrounds and need seek tutoring and show results specific to them. This would feel particularly rewarding after having creating a connection with the student, as it would allow me to understand how meaningful the growth is to them. As someone intending to study in the health field at university next year, creating connections with the people under my care is very important to me.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am able to create connections with students of different personalities and backgrounds with great ease. As someone with 3 years of experience in hospitality, I have developed excellent people skills that allow me to get to know those in my care to a great level even after only a few interactions. I think it is very important to create connections with students as it gives them more motivation to try, thereby producing greater results that help them feel more accomplished.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is tailor their lessons to the student's learning styles. For example, while a tutor may prefer to teach visually, a student may learn best by verbal explanations, so it is important for a tutor to put the needs of the student before their own and show adaptability in doing so. Additionally, a tutor can only allow their student to succeed by making them feel appreciated and accomplished in their learning. Rather than punishing mistakes, they should be used to guide lesson plans.

This tutor is particularly good at helping students who feel overwhelmed by schoolwork, showing them how to organise their thinking and build confidence through clear, structured explanations.

Through her work in fast-paced environments, Sonia has honed exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills, which she brings directly into her tutoring. She helps students plan their homework and study schedules, teaching them simple strategies for meeting deadlines without stress. Parents value that she stays calm under pressure and models this for students, guiding them to tackle one task at a time and develop practical routines they can use across all subjects.

As a recent school graduate, Sonia remembers exactly what primary and high school students are going through. She connects easily with younger learners, using real-life examples and conversational explanations to make Maths and schoolwork feel less intimidating.
