What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Ever since I was in Prep, tutoring has been a huge part of my life. I grew up being guided and supported by tutors who believed in me, even when I doubted myself. That experience shaped not just how I learn, but who I am. What I enjoy most about tutoring now is the chance to give that same support, to be that person who says, "You can do this," and help a student feel understood and capable. Seeing a student's confidence grow and knowing you had a hand in that is truly special.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths as a tutor stem from both experience and empathy. Having been in tutoring environments for most of my schooling, and having tutored Year 7-9 students while balancing leadership responsibilities, I've learned how to communicate clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and lead with kindness. As College Vice Captain (2025), I'm used to guiding others and setting a positive example. I am committed to bring that same energy to tutoring by creating a safe space for students to be themselves, ask questions, and overcome challenges.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student feel safe and confident in their learning journey. Being in leadership, I've seen how powerful encouragement and trust can be in helping someone grow. A tutor shouldn't just teach content, they should motivate, reassure, and create a space where students aren't afraid to make mistakes. Helping them build resilience, fostering curiosity, and showing them that their success matters even beyond grades, that's what makes the biggest impact.

About Jennifer

Early Tutoring Experience with Years 7–9 Students

Jennifer is a high-achieving recent school graduate who has already worked as a tutor for Years 7–9 students in core subjects, including English and maths. She regularly helped classmates and younger students break down tricky concepts, from essay structure to algebra basics, and showed them how to study more efficiently. By adjusting her explanations to different learning styles, she built students’ confidence as well as their marks, and discovered how much she enjoys guiding younger learners one-on-one.

Student Leader Who Understands School Demands

As a former college vice captain and participant in an academic extension program, this tutor understands the pressures and expectations students face at school. Jennifer uses her own experience balancing leadership roles, advanced study and everyday homework to teach practical time-management, note-taking and exam-preparation strategies. Parents can expect a tutor who not only explains content clearly, but also shows students how to stay organised, plan ahead and handle assessments with less stress.

Clear Communicator with a Caring, Practical Approach

Jennifer brings strong communication and mentoring skills, developed through both her tutoring and her studies in a health assistance course, where she completed over 100 hours of hands-on support work. This background has trained her to be patient, attentive and calm under pressure. Fluent in English and Vietnamese, she can connect well with students from diverse backgrounds, explain ideas in simple language, and create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
