What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy fostering a safe space for students to learn and be able to ask for help as I know that can be really difficult. Learning also is not always easy, so seeing students make progress in their learning and gain confidence in themselves is amazing.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have worked with students of all academic backgrounds, such as students whose first language was not English, to accelerated students. This has taught me to adapt to meet the needs of my students. Furthermore, all students are not the same, as some may feel anxious and have greater difficulty asking for help. My empathetic and understanding nature helps me connect with students easily to ensure they feel safe.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe it is empathy and actively trying to build a relationship with a student. Learning does not come naturally for all students, therefore, understanding their needs is crucial. Asking simple questions like how they're feeling or how school was is also a great way to check up on their well-being. This fosters a deeper connection so they feel cared for. I believe tutoring is more than achieving academic progress, but building confidence in a student.
