Wei is a recent high school graduate who excelled in senior Chemistry and Mathematical Methods, achieving results in the top band for both subjects and an overall ATAR above 90%. Having just completed these subjects himself, he understands the current curriculum, common pitfalls and what examiners are looking for. This tutor is particularly well placed to support students who want to build a strong foundation in maths and science through clear explanations and step-by-step problem solving.
Wei brings strong communication skills to his tutoring, explaining complex ideas in simple, structured ways. He is fluent in English and Teochew, which can be especially helpful for students from bilingual households or those who feel more comfortable switching between languages. His experience interacting with a wide range of people through community volunteering has helped him learn how to adjust his explanations and tone to suit different ages and confidence levels.
As someone who has just navigated senior school himself, Wei understands the pressure of assessments, time management and balancing school with other commitments. He is known for being punctual, detail-oriented and able to work independently, which translates into well-prepared lessons and consistent support. In sessions, this tutor focuses on building exam-style skills, walking students through practice questions and sharing the study strategies he used to lift his own performance in maths and science.

Understood the content and worked through questions deliberately by moving in steps through his thinking. Learning good habits of writing everything out even if it might be wrong.
Do textbook questions, while willing to learn the material. The completion of school set work is subpar.
Took notes and was following the teaching well. Not afraid to ask questions when unsure.

Continue to do questions outside of class, and ask questions when unsure. Self discipline to do questions, even when they're difficult is integral to mathematical success.

Needs to sink more time into questions once content is learnt as such to create and reinforce a foundational understanding of algebraic equations and fractions. To curb expecations, I would put Jordan at a mathematical level of early grade 9.
