What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is when the concept being taught finally clicks in a students mind, and you can see the relief and joy on their face. Being able to see how I have helped the student provides me with such an adrenaline rush and it makes me feel as though I have completed my job to the highest level.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am quite stubborn and I think that plays to my strength in being able to stick with a concept and persevere through until a student understands, this combined with my patience allows me to stay calm and rational when a student may begin to give up and slack around a bit. Ultimately allowing me to stay on task until it is complete.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Ultimately I believe the most important thing a tutor can do it is support the student, and make them feel more confident that they can complete maths questions with more ease. This makes all the more improvement solidifying the base they require for maths in the future.

About Ava

Strong Maths & English Foundation from Recent Year 12 Graduate

Ava is a recent Year 12 graduate who has studied English, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Maths, Chemistry, Latin and Psychology, giving her a broad academic base to support primary and high school students. With an ATAR above 95 and strong results in advanced mathematics, she understands current curriculum expectations and how concepts are assessed. Because she has just completed school herself, she explains topics in a way that feels fresh and relatable, especially for students who may be anxious about tests and exams.

Real Experience Helping Younger Students Learn

This tutor already has hands-on experience working with younger children through her role as an assistant dance teacher for five-year-olds, where she learnt to break instructions into simple, clear steps and keep students engaged. As a member of her school’s maths committee, she has also tutored younger students in mathematics, patiently working through problems until they understand. These experiences mean Ava knows how to manage different learning speeds, encourage shy students, and create a calm, structured environment.

Patient, Communicative and Organised Role Model

Ava brings leadership experience as a multi-year form captain, regularly communicating important information to classmates and keeping everyone organised. Years of playing team volleyball have taught her how to cooperate, motivate others and stay composed under pressure—skills that carry directly into her tutoring sessions. She is fluent in English and conversational in another language, which helps her connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Parents can expect a tutor who is patient, responsible, and able to model strong study habits and perseverance.
