My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths are patience and empathy, so when something is difficult to understand we will go through it slowly until you get it. Communication skills is also a strength as i’m good at explaining complex topics in ways that’s easy to understand. Also flexibility to adapt to different teaching styles.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Provide adequate resources on the subject so the student can go back over them when not being tutored. Adapt their teaching style to fit the student to ensure they learn the best and get the most out of each session. Also make sure they understand the content and don’t leave the session feeling confused or lost about anything, all while showing patience and empathy. Also being well-versed in the subject matter, and having an in-depth understanding to ensure the student receives the best possible instructions and guidance.

About Teagan

High-achieving student who understands school demands

Teagan is a high-performing secondary student who has completed an accelerated/advanced class program, regularly working with challenging coursework and complex projects. This tutor knows first-hand how to break down tricky concepts and manage a busy school load, making her especially relatable for primary and lower secondary students. She draws on her own experience balancing advanced classes and assessments to help students plan study time, tackle difficult questions step by step, and build confidence in both Maths and English.

Patient communicator with real-world people skills

Through running a family market stall and working in customer-facing roles, Teagan has developed strong communication skills, patience and empathy with a wide range of people. She is used to answering lots of questions clearly and calmly, and explaining things in different ways until they make sense. In tutoring, this translates to a friendly, approachable style where students feel comfortable asking for help, checking their understanding, and taking the time they need to get things right.

Supportive mentor focused on confidence and independence

This tutor enjoys guiding younger students, especially those who feel unsure about schoolwork or easily overwhelmed by homework. Teagan helps students set small, achievable goals, uses real-life examples from everyday situations to make Maths and English more engaging, and encourages them to explain their thinking out loud. Over time, she aims to build independent learners who can organise their tasks, attempt challenging questions on their own, and feel genuinely proud of their progress.
