What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to help a student get better marks, through 1 on 1 support, putting what they find most difficult about a subject in other terms that they might understand and addressing gaps in knowledge.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Being able to explain maths and science concepts in multiple ways and also I'm a great listener and could tailor my discussions in the best way for the student to understand. I am also extremely patient and prepared to make sure the student understands.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do is to listen to the student and understand what they need to know better as well as what they already know and focusing on the greatest areas of improvement while still linking back to topics they're connected to as everything is connected in Maths and Science in some way.

About Ronald

High-achieving maths and science role model

Ronald is a high-performing Bachelor of Science student who finished school with an ATAR above 90 and top-of-year awards in Extension 1 Mathematics and Chemistry. He also earned a dedicated science award recognising his consistent effort, not just natural ability. This tutor understands what it takes to move from “getting by” to genuinely excelling, and he uses clear, step-by-step explanations to help school students build strong foundations in maths and science.

Practical, organised and calm under pressure

Through his study load and busy part-time work, Ronald has developed strong time-management and communication skills that transfer directly into tutoring. He is used to breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps and staying calm when things get busy, which helps him guide students through challenging topics without stress. In sessions, he focuses on exam-style questions and problem-solving strategies, so students gain both understanding and confidence.

Leadership and mentoring through Scouts

Ronald’s experience earning a major Scouts award shows real leadership, responsibility and the ability to work with younger peers. He has led activities, explained instructions clearly, and supported others to develop new skills—very similar to the way he approaches tutoring. This tutor brings patience, encouragement and a practical, down-to-earth style, making it easier for students to ask questions, stay engaged, and see real progress over time.
