What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Tutoring students is much more than explaining difficult questions and concepts. Tutoring involves acting as the student's role model and friend, allowing me to both track the students' growth academically as well as psychologically.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
From my experience in high school, I've excelled in the required content for the entirety of high school mathematics (excluding VCE general mathematics) as well as having knowledge in various approaches and shortcuts that my teachers, tutors and other top scorers use to succeed in secondary school.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Students are all unique in how they approach studying mathematics. Whether they learn visually/conceptually or rote memorise the whole course, I believe the most valuable asset of tutors is their flexibility to briefly step into their students shoes and teach concepts which is digestable and compatible with their style of learning, whilst simultaneously acting more like a mentor and role model as opposed to a standard teacher.

About Dan
Enthusiastic High School Student Who Relates to Kids and Teens
Hello! My name is Dan N and I'm a recent graduate from Melbourne High School. Outside of school, I enjoy playing sports and general socialising with my friends.
Strong Communicator with a Calm, Structured Approach
This tutor brings strong communication and organisational skills to every lesson, helping students break big topics into manageable pieces. Dan likes to map out mini-goals with his students, such as mastering times tables or improving paragraph structure, and then track progress together. His calm manner helps anxious learners feel at ease, while his structured approach keeps sessions focused and productive, making it easier for students to see real progress over time.
Supportive Study Partner Focused on Confidence and Independence
Danβs goal is to help students become confident, independent learners, not just to get them through the next test. He enjoys showing students simple study habits, like how to plan homework time or organise notes for revision, and encourages them to practise these skills between lessons. This tutor brings a friendly, down-to-earth personality to sessions, turning tutoring into a team effort where students feel heard, encouraged, and motivated to take ownership of their learning.
