What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the satisfaction of teaching a tricky concept to a student because I find it extremely rewarding to share my own knowledge and passion for a subject with others. I believe the personalised impact tutoring can have on the worldview of tutors and students alike is what makes the profession highly enjoyable.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my main strength as a tutor is my ability to exercise flexibility when explaining concepts in a variety of ways to clearly communicate them. I believe that my reliability and enthusiasm for teaching are key strengths as well, because I am willing to assist outside of tutoring hours to offer a more effective and personalised teaching experience.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things a tutor can do, beyond effectively communicating and teaching the syllabus, is to mentally support their students by creating a welcoming space so that they feel safe expressing their concerns. I also think that tutors have an obligation to take into consideration the personal academic goals of their students and to do their utmost to help them achieve them.

About Eileen

Emerging Tutor with Real Classroom Experience

Eileen is a high-achieving senior student who already has hands-on experience supporting primary classes as a teacher’s assistant. She has helped guide students through lessons, led group activities and contributed to creating a calm, focused classroom. This tutor understands how to keep younger learners on task while still making activities enjoyable. Parents can feel confident that Eileen knows what a productive school lesson looks like and can bring that structure and clarity into one-to-one tutoring.

Leadership, Teamwork and a Student’s Perspective

As a student leader and ambassador, Eileen regularly supports peers, communicates with teachers and helps organise school events, giving her strong communication and mentoring skills. She has also been recognised in a science-based extra-curricular competition, showing she can think critically and work effectively in a team. Because she is close to the school system herself, she understands current expectations, assessment styles and the pressures students face, and can explain concepts in ways that feel relatable and practical.

Supportive, Bilingual Communicator for Diverse Learners

Eileen brings bilingual Mandarin–English skills and strong French competency, making her especially helpful for students from multilingual homes or those learning languages at school. Her background in customer-focused roles has trained her to listen carefully, be patient and adjust her approach to different personalities. This tutor takes feedback seriously and enjoys trying new strategies until a topic “clicks”, whether that means breaking tasks into smaller steps, using real-life examples or guiding students through collaborative problem-solving.
