About Sharon

Growing Maths Confidence from Year 1 to Year 11

Sharon is an enthusiastic high school graduate who already has hands-on experience tutoring students from Year 1 to Year 11. She has helped younger children build strong foundations in Mathematics and Science, and supported older students in Mathematics Standard 2, Biology and Japanese. This tutor focuses on breaking tricky ideas into clear, step-by-step explanations and uses examples that relate to everyday life. Parents can expect someone patient, calm and committed to helping students feel more confident with their schoolwork.

Peer Mentor and Student Leader in the Classroom

At school, Sharon volunteered as a peer mentor in Mathematics, guiding junior students through classwork and homework and showing them strategies that worked for her. She also helped plan and deliver sessions to support Year 7 students transitioning into high school, giving her insight into the social and academic challenges students face. These experiences mean she understands how to encourage shy or anxious learners, how to explain concepts in different ways, and how to build trust with students of various ages.

Organised, High-Achieving and Easy to Relate To

Sharon is highly organised, using planners and simple systems to manage deadlinesโ€”skills she passes on to her students to improve their study habits. She has received awards for outstanding academic achievement and effort, and placed near the top of her school in Mathematics Standard 2 and Japanese, showing strong subject knowledge and discipline. At the same time, she is down-to-earth, enjoys helping others, and brings a friendly, approachable style to lessons so students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
