What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It’s always about making sure the kids find the right pathway to achieving maximum success while still having the fun they need along the way. As a tutor, being able to connect with the students at a human level, as I had been with my tutors throughout my Year 12 journey, really enriches the experience for the students as the tutor becomes the mentor and friend in one. Further, seeing progress due to my own teachings is something I really look forward to in life, and is something I aim to do throughout my career in any capacity possible.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I will be very friendly. I’m grateful to have gone through Year 12 with amazing tutors who were always there as a second support to me after my friends and really felt grounded to talk to you about regular ongoing things in the world, like trending topics or even just playing Clash of Clans in class during breaks. In addition, I believe I am quite efficient in getting my point across, and one of my biggest strengths and personal values is to ensure that the student doesn’t feel let down if they are wrong, and just making sure they still feel like they have a chance.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Being present at all times for the students is the best thing a tutor can do, ensuring that they fully grasp the content without being put down for not understanding a concept. Seeking validation will only make the student feel like they need to keep getting it rather than focusing, whereas providing the validation and the content will help accelerate the student’s learning to another level.
