What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy finding ways to make what we learn more engaging so that the tutoring session is more fun. I also like breaking down complex ideas into simpler concepts, so others can understand them clearly and confidently apply what theyβve learned and even pass that understanding on to people around them.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think that I'm someone who is patient and pays key detail to the strengths of weaknesses of the student, knowing that learning for everyone is student is key for me as we go about helping out different students. I will always try to make an attempt to help out the students to the best of my ability by being organised with knowing material and knowing what to cover and keeping a firm hold on the time in the sessions.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutor must be well prepared and organised, prepared in not just knowing the material in and out so that they can teach confidently but also being able to provide the necessary material for the student beforehand which can maximise how much the student takes away. So thoughtfully planning the tutoring session beforehand or being familiar with activities for the content covered will be key. Additionally, I also believe its really important that the tutor passes on ways they learnt the content to the student, so that you help build lifelong learners.

Azlan was quite good in multiplication and division. He focused for a great majority of the lesson and often will be honest when he is stuck which is great. He verbalises the question by reading it aloud and shows his thinking and understanding when I ask him to explain how he comes to his conclusion when answering questions.
Despite his relative fluency in multiplication and division I believe that there is still room for improvement in speed and fluency. He has trouble in reading the question fully and needs to really pay attention to all the key words in the question as they can often confuse him and make him less confident in answering the question or lead him astray. He hasn't done much work with equations and dealing with the LHS and RHS respectively when rearranging and substituting values so will need to work on it.
