What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy connecting with the students and the feeling of fulfilment that comes with seeing someone you care and invested into succeeding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have experience working with a wide range of age groups (5-18 years old) and have gotten used to adjusting to the individual student and their different learning styles. My biggest strength would be finding personalised feedback and strategies for success to recommend.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor should be resourceful and be able to continuously encourage the student to achieve their goals and more. They need to be able to readily respond to all types of questions within the curriculum and about the school system (eg the VCE system) to make the student feel confident and prepared to meet their learning goals.

About Suna

Experienced English Tutor with Strong Academic Background

Suna is an English tutor with a strong academic record, having achieved an ATAR in the high 90s and multiple honour roll awards. She has hands-on experience tutoring school students in English, providing clear explanations and tailored feedback to help each student progress. This tutor is used to working with exam-style tasks and deadlines, so she can guide students through essays, comprehension and test preparation with confidence. Suna communicates warmly and clearly, helping students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new strategies.

Coaching Experience with Children Aged 5–16

Alongside tutoring, Suna has coached children aged 5 to 16 in tennis, which has sharpened her ability to adjust her tone and teaching style for different ages and personalities. She is used to managing larger groups, keeping students engaged and on track, and breaking skills down into simple, achievable steps. This experience translates directly into her tutoring sessions, where she uses practical examples, patient repetition, and encouragement to build both skills and confidence over time.

Bilingual Communicator with a Calm, Organised Approach

As a bilingual speaker of Korean and English, Suna can support students from diverse backgrounds and explain tricky concepts in more than one way. Her experience supervising extended exams has given her a calm, organised presence under pressure, which is especially helpful for anxious learners and those preparing for assessments. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys running, tennis and creative hobbies like crocheting and scrapbooking, and she often uses these real-life interests to create relatable examples that make English more engaging for students.
