What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Student mentoring and tutoring schemes have been a huge interest for me throughout school, the peer-to-peer engagement sessions allowing me to connect with different people and grow healthy connections, as well as the fact that I get to support many other students who sat in the same position in school as I did, is a position I would love to pursue for my professional growth in the future.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My patience and problem solving. No student learns the same, it is crucial that the tutor assigned to each student takes time to understand the most practical and suitable learning method for the student to help them learn, via alternative theoretical, visual or practical skills. Patience is important in building a tutors trust with a student, allowing students to make mistakes and grow, as well problem solving to overcome obstacles each student may face.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutors job can have an incredible impact on a students educational journey, a crucial role playing part in the students motivation and drive for learning. A tutors most important attribute should be the professional relationship they develop with the student, a positive relationship in which the student feels safe to ask questions, make mistakes and experiment intellectually in each class. This student-teacher relationship will play and important role setting the drive for students to pursue their education through school, a support through the right tutor.

About Rohan
Confident Maths Tutor with Strong Academic Foundations
Rohan is a high-achieving high school graduate who completed advanced maths subjects, giving him a solid base for tutoring primary and high school students. He already works as a mathematics tutor, so he understands how to break down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps. His experience in a formal mentoring scheme means he is used to supporting younger students, checking their understanding, and building their confidence, not just their marks.
Natural Communicator and Engaging Explainer
With years of debating, public speaking, and performing in theatre productions, Rohan is very comfortable explaining ideas clearly and keeping students engaged. He has led house public speaking and acted as a master of ceremonies at community events, experiences that help him make lessons lively rather than dry. This tutor uses his communication skills to ask the right questions, encourage shy students to speak up, and turn wordy English or maths problems into something students can actually relate to.
Proven Student Leader Who Connects with Young People
Rohan has held multiple school leadership roles, including peer support leader, prefect and house activities coordinator, giving him real experience guiding younger students and managing group dynamics. He has been involved in wellbeing committees and drama councils, so he understands that students learn best when they feel safe and supported. Drawing on his interest in music and performing arts, he is happy to tailor examples and explanations to each studentβs interests, helping them stay motivated and enjoy learning.
