What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really like the moment where suddenly a topic clicks and the student has a much better understanding. I've found that when someone understands a topic they are more likely to enjoy it and try harder to do even better.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am able to come up with multiple ways to explain different topics meaning that there are different opportunities for a student to be able to understand content. I am also approachable and friendly so students will feel comfortable to ask questions and get a proper understanding of content.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think a tutors support and belief in a student is really important. The knowledge that the tutor thinks they can do well is often just as important as the actual tutoring because if they think it's possible, they won't give up

About Alana

High-achieving student who understands school demands

Alana is a dedicated senior school student who consistently performs at a high academic level, earning recognition across subjects such as Humanities, Technology, Biology and German. As an elected member of her school committee, she understands the pressures and expectations students face and brings that insight into her tutoring. This tutor is well placed to support primary and lower secondary students in English and Maths, helping them build confidence while also sharing practical study and organisation habits that actually work at school.

Clear communicator with real-world responsibility

Through her experience guiding people in formal settings and volunteering in community roles, Alana has developed calm, clear communication skills that are ideal for working with children. She regularly explains information to a wide range of people, follows structured procedures, and pays close attention to detail. This tutor brings that same patient, step-by-step approach to tutoring sessions, breaking tasks into manageable pieces and checking understanding carefully so students don’t feel rushed or overwhelmed.

Supportive role model with strong organisation and care

Alana’s involvement in youth first aid training and swimming club shows her commitment to discipline, responsibility and care for others. She is used to following routines, practising skills regularly, and working as part of a team—qualities that translate into well-organised, reliable tutoring sessions. This tutor aims to be a positive role model, especially for younger students, combining structured lesson planning with a friendly, down-to-earth style that helps children feel comfortable asking questions and trying their best.
