What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students move from feeling overwhelmed or unsure to feeling confident in their understanding. I find it rewarding to watch students have those moments where things “click,†especially when the subject initially felt intimidating. I also really enjoy building supportive relationships with students and helping them develop critical problem-solving skills and study habits that extend beyond a single subject or exam.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are clear communication, patience, and adaptability. I’m able to break complex ideas into simple, logical steps and adjust my explanations based on how a student learns. I focus on understanding why a student is struggling rather than just correcting answers, which helps students become more independent and confident over time. I also create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do are to build confidence, foster understanding, and encourage independent thinking. A tutor should help students feel capable rather than reliant, guide them toward strong problem-solving strategies, and support them emotionally as well as academically. When students feel understood and supported, they are far more likely to stay engaged and succeed.

About Carlee
Calm, Structured Support in Maths, English and Computing
Carlee is a Computer Science and Mathematics undergraduate with a minor in English, giving her a strong foundation to tutor maths, English and computing. She is known for a calm, structured style that helps students who feel anxious about schoolwork, especially in algebra, calculus and problem solving. Drawing on her experience supporting both school-aged and university students, she focuses on building clear understanding step by step so that marks improve alongside confidence.
Proven Small-Group Leader and One-to-One Maths Tutor
This tutor has extensive experience running weekly small-group sessions for calculus, where she guided more than a dozen students at a time through challenging concepts and exam preparation. She has also tutored high school students one-to-one in calculus and trigonometry, working directly from their class notes to match their teacher’s expectations. By adapting explanations to different learning styles and using targeted practice problems, she helps students move from “just memorising” to genuinely understanding.
Engaging Communicator Who Makes Learning Less Intimidating
Carlee’s background includes leading regular tours for prospective high school students and their families, where she learned to explain complex ideas clearly and build rapport quickly with nervous teenagers. She founded and led a maths club that grew from a small group to dozens of active members, designing inclusive problem-solving events and even organising a high school maths competition. Parents can expect a tutor who is approachable, organised, and able to turn challenging material into something manageable and even enjoyable.
