What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

I enjoy seeing the students face light up after understanding the concept or seeing their grades improve. Knowing that it was because of your support as an educator makes it even more special

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

Understanding what the students needs are. Afterall, they are all different and therefore require different needs for them to succeed. I need to provide clear communication, patience and can break down complex concepts into easy and understandable steps. I am approachable and supportive when students come and ask me questions, and always reflect back on my lessons.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

The ability to always be supportive and remind them that failure is a part of growing. Students can often walk or arrive in a classroom with low self-esteem, knowing that the worksheets being handed out are difficult or frustrating. I want to be a person that can always support and encourage them.

About Abby

Emerging Teacher with Real Classroom Experience

Abby is a Bachelor of Education student who already has hands-on experience in real primary and secondary classrooms. During her school placements, she has designed and delivered engaging lessons, supported individual learners, and assisted with day-to-day classroom management. She regularly reflects on her teaching practice to keep improving, and has built strong rapport with both students and supervising teachers. This tutor understands how schools actually operate and brings that practical insight directly into her tutoring sessions.

Blending Visual Arts and Literacy for Engaging Lessons

With a major in Visual Arts and a minor in Literary Studies, Abby brings creativity into English and literacy support. She enjoys using drawing, storyboards and visual prompts to help students plan their writing and better understand texts. Her background in educational psychology and curriculum design means she can adapt explanations to suit different learning styles, especially for visual learners. This tutor turns reading and writing tasks into interactive activities that help students feel confident and motivated.

Strong Child-Focused Approach and Behaviour Management

Abby has studied child psychology, focusing on motivation and cognitive development, and applies this knowledge when planning lessons and setting goals with students. Her experience leading group activities for children, including hosting childrenโ€™s events, has strengthened her behaviour management and communication skills. She knows how to create a safe, fun and structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. This tutor is calm, organised and responsive to each childโ€™s needs, helping them stay focused and enjoy learning.
