About Jie Sheng (Jason)

Future Maths Teacher with Real Classroom Training

Jie Sheng is currently studying a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Mathematics, preparing to become a fully qualified high school teacher. Through his degree, he has completed school placements where he supported students in understanding core maths concepts and classroom routines. He is familiar with the curriculum and assessment expectations and brings this directly into his tutoring. This tutor understands how teachers mark, what they look for, and how to help students lift both their confidence and their results in Maths and related subjects.

Clear Communicator Who Breaks Down Difficult Ideas

With hands-on experience working with a wide range of people in busy customer-facing roles, Jie Sheng has developed strong communication skills and patienceโ€”both essential for working with children and teens. In his school placements, he has practised explaining topics in multiple ways, using step-by-step methods and everyday examples to make abstract ideas more concrete. He is comfortable helping students who feel โ€œstuckโ€ and adjusts his explanations until the student can explain the idea back in their own words.

Supportive Mentor Focused on Study Skills and Independence

This tutor not only focuses on the correct answers, but also on building effective study habits. Drawing on his teacher training, he helps students organise their homework, break tasks into manageable steps, and prepare for tests with simple revision strategies. During placements, he supported small groups and individual learners who needed extra guidance, using checklists and worked examples to keep them on track. Parents can expect a calm, reliable tutor who aims to help students become more independent and confident learners over time.
