What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to provide personalised, one-to-one support that truly meets a child where they are. As a primary school teacher with experience in SET, I’ve seen how powerful targeted support can be in building both academic skills and confidence.
Tutoring allows me to slow down when needed, adapt my approach, and celebrate small but meaningful progress with each child. I especially love seeing a student go from feeling unsure to feeling capable and proud of their work. That growth in confidence is just as important as the academic improvement
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my key strengths are my ability to differentiate effectively, build strong relationships with students, and create a calm, supportive learning environment.
I am very comfortable identifying specific areas of need and tailoring lessons to suit each child’s learning style and pace. I regularly break down concepts into manageable steps and use varied teaching strategies to ensure understanding.
I also prioritise building confidence. Many students who seek tutoring need reassurance as much as academic support, and I take pride in helping children feel capable and motivated.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do are build a student’s confidence, provide personalised support, and create a safe space for learning. Many students seeking tutoring need reassurance as much as academic help, so helping them feel capable and recognise their progress is key.
A tutor should tailor lessons to the child’s individual needs, breaking concepts into manageable steps and adapting their approach where necessary. When students feel supported and understood, real progress can happen.
