What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the rewarding feeling of helping someone understand a difficult problem and the achievement of getting good results.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe it's my patience with a student and just trying to approach and teach the problem in a different way when one way doesn't work.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe besides the obvious academic sides, it is important to just be genuine as more than a tutor for a student and try to help them as much as I can whether as an older peer to look up towards to or just someone to talk to. If I treat tutoring as a chore or a job, I feel like the student will be able to feel that and that's why it's more important to treat it not like a job or chore but as like tutoring a sibling who needs help.

About Alex

Emerging Maths & Computing Tutor with Strong Academic Foundation

Alex is a commerce and computer science student who thrived in an accelerated learning program throughout secondary school. This tutor has a strong grounding in maths and analytical thinking, and understands the pressures of selective and high-achieving school environments. He is well placed to support primary and high school students who need help consolidating core maths skills, building study habits, or preparing for extension work. Alex focuses on clear explanations and practical examples to make abstract ideas easier to grasp.

Patient Communicator with Real-World Experience

Through extensive customer-facing roles and community volunteering, Alex has developed strong communication skills and a calm, approachable manner with young people. He has spent time playing and interacting with disadvantaged children, which has strengthened his patience and ability to connect with students of different backgrounds and confidence levels. In lessons, this tutor encourages questions, checks understanding regularly, and adapts his explanations until the student feels genuinely confident. Parents can expect a tutor who listens carefully and responds thoughtfully.

Organised, Bilingual and Culturally Aware Support

Alex brings strong organisational skills from balancing study, work and volunteering, and he helps students plan their homework and revision in manageable steps. Fluent in both English and Vietnamese, he can support bilingual families and explain concepts in a way that respects different cultural perspectives. This tutor is comfortable using technology and digital tools to reinforce learning, from structured practice in maths to guided research tasks in humanities or business-related subjects, always aiming to build independence as well as marks.
