What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really enjoy it when someone who may have had difficulty grasping a concept, is able to understand, and apply the concept with ease, through a combination of their teachers' efforts, their own efforts and my efforts.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having mastered the rigorous A Level Mathematics curriculum, I bring a high level of technical expertise to VCE Mathematical Methods and General Maths. I’ve been told by mentors and friends that I am exceptionally patient- a trait I bring to every session. I believe in breaking down complex VCAA concepts into primitive frameworks to ensure the core logic is understood before we tackle exam-style applications.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Understanding that no 2 students are the same. Every student is very different and has different methods of learning. Through questioning and perhaps trial and error, it's important for the tutor to decipher what method works best for the student, what the students' weaknesses and strengths are, and use such information to create a tailored tutoring plan for the student. It's also important for a tutor to gauge a students' priorities and work on communicating to the student how to achieve their goals, and guide them as needed.

Demonstrated improved recall of concepts when explanations were reinforced. Shows persistence and determination when working through challenging problems. Displayed a moderate level of competence in solving basic trigonometry questions.
Linear equation skills are developing, with further practice needed on expanding expressions using the FOIL method. Needs to strengthen understanding of the distinction between expressions such as x² and 2x. Foundational algebraic concepts require further consolidation; future sessions will focus on strengthening these fundamentals. Would benefit from spending more time interpreting problem-solving questions before attempting solutions, particularly in trigonometry. Requires more independent practice outside tutoring sessions to improve confidence and retention. Should work towards recalling key mathematical rules and concepts (such as exponent laws) without relying heavily on notes.
