What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really enjoy tutoring because my father is a teacher, and he always taught me that the best way to truly know if you have learned something is to teach it to someone else. I find that explaining concepts to others comes naturally to me, and it is incredibly rewarding to see when my friends understand something. Beyond that, it is just really cool to use my knowledge to help others learn and grow.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My main strength as a tutor is my solid understanding of Standard Maths, having achieved a Band 6 in the subject, which means I know the content thoroughly. I also pride myself on being able to break down complex ideas and make them very clear for students. Furthermore, my experience as a peer tutor for my friends in class has given me practical skills in explaining concepts in a relatable and patient way.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence by creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. It is also crucial to adapt your teaching style to match how the student learns best, breaking down challenging concepts into simple, manageable steps rather than just re-teaching the same textbook method.
