Inside BardiaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Rohan focused on understanding electron configuration and the differences between ions and isotopes, as well as revising key concepts like homeostasis and the nervous system through practice exam questions.

For Year 9, Mason worked on operations with fractions—including addition, subtraction, and multiplication—alongside converting improper fractions to mixed numerals using the cross method.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Aleigha practised vertical multiplication and tackled word problems involving addition, subtraction, and multiplication algorithms to strengthen her calculation skills.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student preparing for exams struggled to consistently update and review summary notes, which left him feeling "pressured or behind in his exam preparation."

In senior maths, a student found it challenging to recognise when to apply the correct trigonometric formula in worded questions, often missing connections because she hadn't revised past topics or broken down information systematically.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student forgot to complete assigned homework and lost track of concepts previously taught—when asked about multiplication abbreviations, he kept glancing at notes for reassurance despite understanding. These habits led to confusion and interrupted progress mid-lesson.

Recent Achievements

One Bardia tutor noticed a big shift in Rohan, a high school student who used to hesitate with scientific concepts—he's now actively asking questions during lessons and even keeps a summary document open to track what he needs to review.

In chemistry, after struggling with electron transfer diagrams at first, he can now draw and explain them independently.

Another secondary student, Khloe, initially froze when faced with new algebra problems but has started working through solutions out loud until she finds the answer.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student surprised his tutor by reading clock times without prompting or hesitation for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Glenquarie Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Bardia Public School.
