What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to work closely with students and help them overcome academic challenges. Over the past five years, I have supported students in improving their understanding, confidence, and performance, and I am confident in my ability to contribute both academically and interpersonally to their success. I am particularly drawn to the intellectual and focused nature of tutoring. Having spent much of my life in academic environments and now studying full-time as an Engineering student, I genuinely enjoy engaging with complex material and helping others.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have been a straight-A student since Year 9 and currently maintain one of the highest CWAs in my Engineering cohort at Curtin University, with a CWA of 88.75. This consistent academic performance reflects my discipline, strong work ethic, and effective study strategies — qualities I am confident I can pass on to my students to help them achieve similar success. Furthermore, having spent several years in the United States, I am fluent in English and highly confident in my communication abilities. I am able to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important responsibility of a tutor is to accurately identify a student’s weaknesses and focus on addressing them in order to improve the student’s academic performance as efficiently as possible. Furthermore, a tutor should be readily available when the student requires support. There is often a limited window before a student becomes discouraged and begins to perceive the material as too difficult. Timely guidance during these critical moments can prevent frustration, maintain motivation, and build confidence.

About Chaemin

High-achieving maths and English tutor with real exam experience

Chaemin is a top-performing engineering student with consistently high marks across advanced mathematics, including linear algebra and multivariable calculus. He has tutored high school students in SAT Mathematics and English for several years, helping them tackle demanding exam-style questions with confidence. Drawing on his own experience as a straightA secondary student, he knows exactly where students commonly get stuck and how to break problems down into simple, repeatable steps that work under test pressure.

Clear communicator who makes complex ideas simple

This tutor has strong English skills, recognised with a high school English award, and uses them to explain tricky concepts in plain, friendly language. He has delivered onetoone coaching in Calculus and SAT Grammar, turning dense rules into easy patterns, visual aids, and memorable shortcuts. As a fluent speaker of Korean and English, and conversational in Spanish, he is especially good at supporting students who speak more than one language or lack confidence in academic English.

Disciplined, safetyminded mentor who builds good study habits

With a background in military leadership and first aid training, Chaemin brings calm, structure and reliability to each lesson. He is used to leading teams, giving clear instructions, and maintaining focus under pressure—skills he now applies to guiding students through challenging maths and English topics. Sessions with this tutor are organised but relaxed: he helps students set realistic goals, track their progress, and develop the steady study routines that lead to longterm improvement, not just lastminute cramming.
