What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy that feeling that I get when a student gets that AHAH moment, when they realise that they actually understand the question. It gives me joy in that I was able to impact somebody else's life in a small way, since those who do tutoring are serious about education.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths are the techniques in how I tutor and my patience with the people I tutor. My techniques involve a self-realisation process which seems to help students replicate those techniques even in a pressured environment. I believe I am patient with students since I don't try to rush their process of learning, and I also try to instill that in students, since they can get frustrated when they can't get things correct. I was also a student who took note of my mistakes when doing questions in order to improve, I also believe that is a strength in my own techniques in how I tutor.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The most important thing a tutor can do is guide and show the path to the student. By showing the path, the student can learn to walk on it once. Then when they practice enough with that same technique, they can walk along that path by themselves.

About Pranshu

High-achieving maths and science role model

Pranshu is a high-performing student with an ATAR in the top 1%, now studying a combined honours degree in philosophy and engineering. He has earned distinctions in national maths competitions and received a certificate of excellence in maths and science. His strong academic background means he understands the demands of school assessments and exam-style questions, and he uses this experience to show students how to tackle challenging maths and science problems with clarity and confidence.

Real tutoring experience with proven peer support

This tutor has already informally tutored more than 30 classmates, often over the phone, helping them unpack tricky concepts and step through questions one by one. He has also taken part in a school mentorship program, guiding younger students through team-building activities and study challenges. These experiences have taught him how to explain ideas in different ways until they β€œclick”, and how to build a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

Engaging mentor who builds confidence and independence

Beyond academics, Pranshu has led and participated in a range of activities, from serving as a student health minister organising assemblies to helping run a small product-based business at school. He draws on these experiences to make sessions practical and engaging, using real-life examples and problem-solving tasks to keep students interested. He focuses on building independent study habits, showing students how to break down complex tasks, manage time effectively, and approach new topics with curiosity rather than stress.
