What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Teaching kids new skills and ways to understand and interpret the subjects. I love engaging with students and hearing their perspectives and understanding their learning process, this makes it simpler for me to explain and teach complicated concepts.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Breaking down complex topics and building it up from the ground to make it easier for the students to learn. The strength to cracking a topic is to build you’re basics right, which I have always learnt and want to translate it for the students.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

To understand where the student is coming from. School can become an overwhelming experience if not handled right. The most important thing a tutor can do is to understand what they need and make them comfortable, while delivering to them at a pace they need. It requires the tutor to build a relationship with the students and their parents. The student also needs to have confidence in their tutor and together we can make sure they have a safe place to learn about new topics and gain new skills.

About Shriya Anand

Strong STEM Academic Background

Shriya is a postgraduate student in biomedical and health sciences with a solid foundation in biotechnology, giving her a deep understanding of Maths and science concepts that often challenge school students. Her daily work with data, models and analysis means she is comfortable breaking down complex ideas into clear, step-by-step explanations. This tutor brings an academic mindset to sessions, helping students not just to memorise, but to understand the “why” behind formulas and scientific ideas.

Experienced in Explaining Complex Ideas Clearly

Through her research work in computational biology, Shriya regularly translates advanced topics—like drug discovery and structural biology—into clear language for different audiences. She has led the development of data schemas and analysis pipelines, which requires careful organisation and logical thinking. In tutoring, she uses this same approach to help students tackle tricky Maths and science problems, guiding them to see patterns, check their working, and build confidence with structured, logical reasoning.

Patient, Analytical and Student-Focused Approach

Shriya combines strong analytical skills with a warm, patient manner. She is used to collaborating in research teams, listening to others’ ideas and communicating her own clearly, which carries over into how she works with students one-on-one. This tutor likes to use real-life examples from biology, technology and everyday situations to make abstract Maths and science topics feel relevant. She helps students develop problem-solving strategies they can reuse in class tests, assignments and exams.
