What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when a student finally understands something and becomes more confident. That sense of progress — especially when they go from struggling to expressing their ideas clearly — is really rewarding for me. I also enjoy building a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again without fear.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my main strengths is patience. I understand that every student learns at a different pace, so I take the time to explain concepts in ways that suit them.
I’m also adaptable — I adjust my teaching methods depending on the student’s learning style, whether they need more structure, examples, or encouragement.
Lastly, I’m strong in communication. I make sure my explanations are clear and simple, especially in creative writing, so students feel confident expressing their ideas.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence while helping them understand the subject clearly. Academic improvement matters, but confidence is what allows them to apply what they’ve learned independently.
A tutor should also create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Lastly, being patient and consistent is important, so students feel guided and motivated throughout their learning journey.

About Ismathunnisa
Structured Maths Support for Years 1–8
Ismathunnisa is an experienced maths tutor who has supported primary and lower secondary students from Year 1 to Year 8. She focuses on numeracy fundamentals, problem-solving and exam preparation, always aligning her lessons with the school curriculum. This tutor begins by assessing each student’s gaps, then sets clear, achievable learning goals and tracks progress over time. Parents value that she aims for measurable improvement, not just more homework, and that students gain both skills and confidence in maths.
Patient Communicator with Strong Tech and Language Skills
With a background in technical support and customer education, this tutor is skilled at breaking down complex ideas into simple, step-by-step explanations. She has guided many learners over the phone to use digital tools independently, a strength she now applies to explaining tricky maths concepts. Fluent in English, Tamil and Urdu, she can connect with students from diverse backgrounds and communicate clearly with families about progress, challenges, and next steps.
Disciplined, Organised and Relatable Role Model
Outside tutoring, Ismathunnisa has competed in tennis at school and polytechnic level and has held student leadership roles, experiences that built her discipline, time management and sense of responsibility. She enjoys puzzles and brain games, which she sometimes uses to make logical thinking and problem-solving more engaging for students. As someone who loves spending time with younger relatives, she brings warmth, patience and a calm, encouraging presence that helps students feel safe to ask questions and learn from mistakes.
