What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

The idea of tutoring sounds enjoyable to me, as not only am I able to help students who may be struggling in certain subject areas, but I also have the ability to help those who are gifted excel in their chosen subjects and make a difference for the students I teach.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm a strong communicator and academic who has the ability to change the way I teach to cater to individual student needs and make the most of our time together. Furthermore, in my roles as sport and school captain i've learnt how to embrace and communicate with those younger than me, and how to create bonds, meaning there is also motivation and support given to students.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

I believe that while the teaching aspect of tutoring is exceptionally important, I also believe that supporting and motivating students when marks aren't exceptional is equally as important. This support means that even if students are feeling down, talking through the essay/assignment/exam and highlighting the positives as well as improvements can overall change their mindset and help them to improve and learn from their mistakes rather than being discouraged by them.

About Isabelle

Emerging Academic Role Model with Leadership Experience

Isabelle is a recent high school graduate now studying International Relations at university, giving her a fresh understanding of what primary and high school students are working through. As a former school captain and field hockey captain, she is used to guiding younger students, setting expectations and communicating clearly with both peers and adults. This tutor brings that same calm, organised presence to tutoring, helping students break tasks into manageable steps and feel confident asking questions.

Clear Communicator Who Keeps Students Engaged

Through years of umpiring junior hockey, Isabelle has developed the ability to explain rules, make quick decisions and keep groups of young people focused and on track. She is used to adjusting her explanations so that different ages understand, and to staying patient even when things are fast-paced or stressful. In tutoring, she uses these skills to walk students through Maths and English problems step by step, checking understanding as she goes and keeping sessions interactive.

Supportive Mentor Who Understands Student Life

Having recently completed her own senior studies, Isabelle understands homework demands, assessment stress and the importance of good study habits. She draws on her leadership background to help students plan their work, stay motivated and build confidence, not just โ€œget the answersโ€. This tutor enjoys getting to know each studentโ€™s interests and uses real-life examples and discussion to make learning feel relevant, building a positive, encouraging space where students are willing to try, make mistakes and improve.
