What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love seeing students grow in confidence when they understand a new concept. As they gradually become more familiar with new topics, it is incredibly rewarding to see them believe in their abilities. As a student pursuing my Master's in Mechanical Engineering, it is especially fulfilling to see students become passionate about the maths and physics concepts I know and love.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have a patient, kind and encouraging manner when I am tutoring a student. I truly believe that no question is too small and I actually love when students challenge me to explain the concepts I know deeply in ways I hadn't considered! Having tutored students of varying academic abilities, it is incredibly important to be adaptable and to tailor teaching methods to the student. Some students respond better to guided worked examples, sketches or just an alternative explanation. Adjusting my teaching style on the go and simplifying difficult concepts are strengths of mine.

To summarise, the most important things a tutor can do for a student is distill down difficult concepts, adapt to their learning style and build their confidence with a patient and encouraging teaching manner. Effective tutors encourage questions and identify gaps in understanding while creating a supportive and judgement-free environment.
