What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Tutoring is a rewarding job where I am able to make a difference in students lives. Through tutoring, I am given the opportunity to change how one views learning. I love seeing the growth in other students (both mindset wise and academically) that occurs when they understand topics, seeing their joy makes tutoring worth it.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am able to cater to students, adjusting my teaching methods and explanations to help students understand topics in a way that makes sense to them. I am patient and clear with my explanations. Since I have working with children experience, I am able to connect with children, making sure I provide them with an environment where they feel comfortable and safe to learn in, where they are excited to learn more.
Most important things I can do for a student π
As a tutor, I believe the most important things I can do for a student is to provide a comfortable and engaging learning environment and to adjust learning techniques to cater to students. This means showing that mistakes are okay as this indicates that learning is possible. Since not all students learn content in the same way, tutors must be able to cater to each student, adjusting techniques in order to help students understand content to the fullest. Adjusting teaching methods is vital for student engagement and understanding as it shows them that any person is capable of learning.

About Elena
Emerging Maths High-Achiever with Strong School Awards
Elena is a recent school graduate who excelled in Maths Methods, earning a dedicated maths award alongside consistent academic honours. This tutor brings fresh, first-hand understanding of current school expectations and can clearly explain concepts the way students are learning them now. Drawing on her own success across subjects, she helps students break down problems into manageable steps, especially in maths, and shows them how to turn class notes into practical study tools for tests and assignments.
Real Experience Supporting Children in Learning Environments
Elena has hands-on experience working with young children in an early learning centre, where she interacted with children, helped with activities, and created a calm, tidy space for learning and play. She also holds a Working With Children Check. These experiences taught her how to read childrenβs moods, keep them engaged, and gently guide them back on task. This tutor is particularly good at helping shy or uncertain students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again.
Patient Mentor with Strong Communication and Leadership Skills
Through school mentoring programs, Elena has supported younger students, using her communication and leadership skills to encourage them and build their confidence. Her background in team sports like volleyball and long-term swimming has given her persistence, structure, and a coaching mindset she brings into tutoring sessions. She focuses on helping students become more independent learners, celebrating small wins and showing them practical strategies to stay organised, manage time, and believe in their own abilities.
