What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the pride in helping students improve their skills academically within their subjects. I also enjoy that tutoring would help me in branching out my own skills, especially since I am doing a University degree in secondary teaching.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am someone who can work both independently with certain tasks, but can work in a team to find the best for other people. I also have proficient communication skills where I can explain concepts to the students and talk to the parents with any potential enquiries they might have.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

With tutoring, there are two main tasks. There is the known task of improving student's skills academically, but a tutor also has the role in improving confidence and understanding that the student can improve themselves and have the motivation to improve.

About Sarah

Emerging Maths Specialist with Classroom Experience

Sarah is an enthusiastic maths-focused tutor who is currently completing a Bachelor of Mathematics and Secondary Teaching. At school she studied advanced and extension Mathematics and English, giving her a strong foundation to support both primary and high school students. She has already spent time in real classrooms as a volunteer primary school teacher assistant, helping with lessons and small-group activities. This blend of strong academic background and hands-on experience means she can explain tricky ideas clearly and at the right level for each student.

Real Classroom Support and Peer Leadership

Through her volunteer work in kindergarten classrooms, Sarah has helped young children with early numeracy and literacy tasks, guided them during activities, and supported teachers with lesson routines. In high school, she was a Student Representative Council member and a Peer Support leader, mentoring younger students in resilience, independence and settling into school life. These experiences show that she is comfortable working with different ages and knows how to build confidence, not just marks.

Calm, Organised Tutor Who Connects with Students

Sarah brings strong time-management, communication and problem-solving skills to every session, developed through balancing study, leadership roles and community volunteering. She is a fast learner who enjoys breaking big tasks into manageable steps, a strategy she uses with students who feel overwhelmed by maths or English. Whether helping with homework, exam preparation, or catching up on core skills, this tutor focuses on making students feel heard, supported and capable of tackling challenges independently.
