What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As a student myself, I love the moment when you finally have the 'I get it' moment - particularly after focussing on an important problem which is crucial for the topic. Additionally, I love the fact that maths is an interest of mine, so working in that field comes more naturally. Finally, ever since I began university I've loved the group projects because I've enjoyed meeting new people, which always leads to the possibility of new friendships.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I have good discourse skills. As in, I believe I know how to sit and listen, rather than trying to butt in to more quickly solve the student's problem. In addition, I believe I can stay calm under pressure, meaning I know when to talk slower to stress what I am attempting to articulate, even when a problem may be frustrating.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that it is important for the tutor to foster a casual and fun relationship with the student - one where they can connect with more than just academia. In addition, I also believe that it is crucial for a tutor to teach the student good problem solving strategies because the tutor cannot always be with them. My Maths Experience
I am currently in my second year of studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Commerce at Monash University, majoring in Civil Engineering. I studied Mathematical Methods 3/4 and General Mathematics 3/4 in Year 12 at Mentone Grammar, as well as studying Specialist Mathematics 1/2 in Year 11.
My Life
Outside of university and tutoring, I like to stay active by playing senior local football, running and going to the gym. In my spare time, I enjoy catching up with friends and playing piano.
My Availability
Monday: 5pm to 10pm Wednesday: 3:30pm to 10pm Friday: 3:30pm to 10pm Saturday: 7pm to 10pm Sunday: 7am to 10pm I am also a frequent attendee of the Bentleigh Library so I am more than happy to tutor your child there if that is best suited.
