What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being the reason a student succeeds in academics drives me. Seeing their progress and achievement both in class and at school reminds me of the positive influence I hold, and that results in enjoyment.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am very patient, and I can understand a student's struggle with a particular concept. Having said this, I am able to multitask as I can think of a better explanation while simultaneously teaching the content to other students. I also encourage students to ask questions. In my previous group classes, I had a rule where every student must ask at least 2 questions per class. This would eliminate embarrassment in asking questions, which I understand as another strength is being a recent high-school graduate.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor should be a mentor. They are someone who can guide a student and give real advice. This means they are approachable in and beyond the classroom setting. Being interactive is another must. The student should be solving the problems simply with the tutor's guidance. Tutors must also encourage the student to feel comfortable asking questions and provide solutions in the classroom environment.

About Ishaan

Experienced Maths and English Tutor for Primary Students

Ishaan is a high-achieving engineering and commerce student with an ATAR above 95, who already has hands-on experience tutoring primary school students in both Maths and English. In his previous tutoring role, he worked with groups of up to 15 students, helping them build strong foundations, focus and study discipline. He is calm, patient and composed under pressure, and knows how to break down tricky concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations that younger learners can follow.

Child-Focused Approach Backed by Real Classroom Practice

This tutor has spent extended time volunteering in a child-care and education setting, where he supported children’s daily activities and helped create a safe, positive environment. That experience means he understands how different personalities learn and how to keep students engaged while still maintaining boundaries. Ishaan brings this same mindset into tutoring sessions, combining structure with encouragement so that students feel comfortable asking questions and are willing to persist when work becomes challenging.

Goal-Oriented Coaching Style that Builds Confidence

Ishaan’s results-driven nature comes through in the way he sets clear academic goals and tracks progress with each student. With community coaching experience and Duke of Ed achievements, he is used to motivating young people, celebrating small wins and building resilience over time. He takes pride in the quality of his work, preparing targeted exercises in Maths and English that match each student’s level, and helping them move from “I don’t get it” to confidently tackling problems on their own.
