What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I am extremely passionate about mathematics, physical sciences and computer science. These topics, especially math, feel very rewarding to me and helping others find that "aha" moment on these concepts that I'm so passionate about is extremely rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I am good at reiterating complex topics and finding multiple examples and explanations of concepts that relate and make it easier to process for students.
I am nearly 100% self taught in mathematics, from pre-algebra through to Calculus III, linear algebra and introductory proof-writing, I have explored advanced topics on my own and know where things can get confusing and why. Having to find ways to conceptualize abstract concepts on my own has positioned me to be able to identify what exactly a student is struggling with and work with that info to help them overcome there struggle
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe understanding where a student is struggling and why is one of the most important things, and then creating an approach to learning for the student that focuses on where they lack in most.
Going through the Australian curriculum myself, I think many foundational concepts are only brushed on slightly and not given the full attention they deserve, Sometimes i think stepping back, and helping a student understand prerequisite concepts better can be the link to understanding the concepts they struggle in.

About Liam
High-achieving maths student with proven competition success
Liam is a strong maths tutor, having earned distinction-level results in national mathematics competitions and academic excellence awards at school. He has held an academic scholarship and consistently performed in the top range of his classes. This tutor enjoys unpacking tricky problems step by step, showing students how to see patterns and check their own working. He especially likes helping students bridge the gap between โfollowing the methodโ and actually understanding why it works, which is ideal for exam and test preparation.
Tech-savvy problem solver who makes concepts practical
With a deep background in computer science, cybersecurity and real-world IT projects, Liam is skilled at explaining complex ideas in simple, everyday language. He has built his own cloud platform and coded data tools in Python, so he understands how maths connects to technology and real life. In tutoring sessions, he often uses practical examples from coding, finance or technology to make abstract maths more concrete and engaging for students who like computers or hands-on problem solving.
Patient mentor with experience training others
Beyond academics, Liam has real experience training and mentoring people in fast-paced work environments, including guiding new staff step by step through unfamiliar tasks. This has taught him to read when someone is confused, slow down, and rephrase explanations without making students feel pressured. He brings that same calm, encouraging style to tutoring, focusing on building confidence, study routines and clear problem-solving habits so students can work more independently over time.
