What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most as a tutor is being able to share knowledge and information with others, particularly younger kids, in a manner thatβs engaging and rememberable.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths as a tutor involve delivering content in a way that emphasises on critical thinking rather than rote learning, as the former is what helps content stick and what allows the student to realise its relevance in a world. I am also calm and encouraging, as within my own experience of mentoring young children in subject areas, what students need is not to feel as though they are incapable of understanding the subject matter, but rather that everyday or every lesson is a time to improve and be a better version of themselves. Patience is what encourages students to strive for better
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is instead of providing answers, ask the students open-ended questions that guide the students to the conclusion themselves. Lecturing about the topic may work for some, but to others, the content is easily disposable/forgotten or the student has mentally checked out halfway through the lesson. In this way, students are encouraged to critically think about the content and how itβs relevant within their own lives.
