What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy watching students confidence grow, and knowing that I am making a genuine impact on their knowledge and skills

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my biggest strength is patience. I understand the important of not trying to rush a skill or knowledge. The more time it takes to learn something, the more rewarding the outcome for both me and the student. I also understand that mistakes are the best way to learn, and will always support students through distress and anger, whilst providing a positive perspective

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do is be patient and understanding. Forcing an expectation can create insecurity, which can further decrease a students confidence, and hence academic ability. A friendly, positive attitude will create the most growth, and provide students with the strive to improve and upskill their academic abilities

About Michaela

Masters Student

I am currently studying my Masters of Dietetics after completing my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science at Curtin University. During my undergraduate studies, I also received volunteering awards for my involvement in community programs, including teaching cooking lessons to children. These experiences strengthened my communication skills and passion for helping others learn in a supportive environment.

Academic Success & Achievement

I have demonstrated dedication, consistency, and a strong work ethic throughout my academic journey. I graduated high school with an ATAR of 94.2 and received a Certificate of Merit for academic excellence. Throughout Years 11 and 12, I achieved course awards in Mathematics Applications and Human Biology ATAR. I was also awarded a regional scholarship to support my move to Perth for university studies.

Diverse Extracurricular Involvement

Outside of studying, I enjoy playing social sports, netball, going to the gym, running, and playing the piano. These extracurricular activities have helped me develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, strong time management skills, and greater self-confidence, which I bring into both my academic and tutoring environments.
