What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I particularly enjoy the classroom management side of tutoring because I like building positive relationships with students while maintaining an engaging and productive learning environment. I'd love to inspire students into loving what I am teaching and gained an significant improvement in their studies.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to build rapport with students and create a comfortable learning environment. I'm also patient and adaptable, so I can explain concepts in different ways depending on how the student learns best. Another strength of mine is classroom management, as I enjoy keeping students engaged, focused, and motivated during sessions,
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. A tutor should also be patient, adaptable, and able to explain concepts in ways that match the student’s learning style. Beyond academics, I think it’s important for tutors to build students’ confidence and motivation so they become more independent learners over time.

About Layla
My background
Hello! My name is Layla and I am a qualified Science tutor based in Sydney. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Majoring in Science and Mathematics. I am a patient and hard-working individual which allowed me to achieve a Band 6 in Chemistry. Alongside my tutoring work, I currently hold leadership experience in a fast-paced five-star hotel environment, where I supervise teams, manage responsibilities under pressure, and ensure high standards of service. This experience has strengthened my ability to guide, support, and motivate others effectively.
In my tutoring, I bring this same leadership approach to help students stay focused, build structure in their learning, and gain confidence in challenging subjects. I specialise in breaking down complex concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations while encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.
My hobbies
My hobbies are drawing, cooking and needle felting.
