What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students gain confidence in mathematics and seeing the moment when concepts finally โclickรขโฌ for them. As someone who progressed from being recommended for Mathematics Standard in junior years to completing Mathematics Extension 2, I understand how challenging mathematics can feel at times. Because of this, I enjoy supporting students through those difficulties and helping them develop both problem-solving skills and confidence in their own abilities.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I believe my strengths as a tutor are patience, clear communication, and the ability to explain concepts in a step-by-step manner. Since I recently completed the HSC, I am familiar with the current syllabus and understand the common challenges students face. I also try to adapt my explanations to suit different learning styles by using diagrams, examples, and practical approaches to help students better understand difficult concepts.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. A tutor should not only help improve academic performance, but also build a studentโs confidence, motivation, and independent problem-solving skills. I think a good tutor should guide students toward understanding concepts rather than simply memorizing methods.
