What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have been a tutoring student for most of my highschool years and have gone through countless tutors that significantly benefitted me or hindered my learning so I believe I am well equipped to help students to their fullest ability based of my own experience. That being said I enjoy being someone akin to a teacher but more alike a friend whom is fully there for the students support alone. The one on one setting allows for genuine connection and in turn a learning experience unlike the classroom. In my experience, my students success in understanding and progress is just as exciting for me.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths as a tutor include having a clear work plan and learning structure which includes constantly engaging and communicating with student. I don’t find it beneficial to talk at them but engage them in the learning and explanation. I do this through constantly asking questions and making sure the student is aware of the learning plan and structure for explanations to a question to the whole session plan. Additionally, I am strong at creating a comfortable learning environment that encourages the student rather than diminishes and scares them away from interacting.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is simply be fully present and engaged in the session. If the tutor is not engaged nor will the student be, the tutor needs to fully immerse themselves in the learning of student and show just as much interest to motivate and encourage the student not just through words but actions. Furthermore, a good tutor must be able to adapt every aspect of their teaching for a student and not be stuck in a set learning practise. Students change overtime and so does school learning, their environment and their interests so too for tutors.
