What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the moment a concept finally clicks for a student — especially in subjects like Physics or Chemistry, where a topic can seem completely inaccessible one week and straightforward the next once it's explained the right way. I also enjoy the one-on-one nature of it: unlike a classroom, I can adapt in real time to how a specific student thinks, and see the direct impact of that on their confidence and results.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'd point to three things: first, the ability to explain the same concept multiple ways until I find the one that lands for that particular student — not every learner responds to the same explanation. Second, patience and clear communication under time pressure, since ATAR students are often juggling several subjects and deadlines at once. And third, strong organisation — I manage scheduling and individualised lesson planning across multiple students concurrently, so each session is prepared and targeted rather than generic.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Three things stand out to me. Build genuine understanding rather than just getting them through the next test — that's what holds up under exam pressure. Meet students where they are, adjusting pace and explanation style to their level rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. And build their confidence — a lot of students who seek tutoring have started to doubt their ability in a subject, and part of the job is showing them they're capable, not just teaching content.
