What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing the moment when a concept finally makes sense to a student. I find it rewarding to help students become more confident, improve their problem-solving skills, and feel less overwhelmed by their studies.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple, structured, and approachable way. I am patient, adaptable, and able to adjust my teaching style depending on how each student learns best. My experience as a peer mentor has also helped me develop strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing is building understanding, not just getting to the right answer — a student should walk away knowing why something works, not just what to write down. Patience matters just as much: making sure a student never feels judged for not getting something straight away. And I think a good tutor builds confidence alongside knowledge, so students start trusting their own reasoning rather than just waiting to be told the answer.

About Parisha

Academic & Analytical Background

I am a Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Sydney, majoring in Professional Accounting and Business Law. I am also a Dalyell Scholar and recipient of the Sydney International Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship. My studies have developed strong skills in accounting, finance, law, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving.

Mentoring & Communication

I have experience as a Peer Mentor at the University of Sydney Business School, where I supported students with study strategies, time management, academic expectations, and adjusting to university life. This experience strengthened my ability to listen, communicate clearly, and provide personalised support.

My Teaching Approach

I believe learning should be clear, encouraging, and tailored to the individual student. I like breaking complex topics into manageable steps, using examples to make ideas easier to understand, and checking that students genuinely understand a concept rather than simply memorising an answer. My goal is to help students improve both their academic performance and their confidence.
