What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing a student gradually become more confident with something they initially found difficult. For me, the most rewarding part is when a student goes from saying that they do not understand a concept to being able to explain it or solve a problem on their own. I also enjoy the process of figuring out how to explain something in a way that makes sense to that particular student, as not everyone learns in the same way.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think one of my main strengths is being able to break down difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable parts. I try not to assume that a student understands something just because I have explained it once, and I am comfortable approaching the same topic from a different angle if needed. I am also patient and approachable, which I think helps students feel comfortable asking questions or admitting when they do not understand something. Having taught students of different ages and academic levels, I have also become quite comfortable adapting my teaching style to the individual student.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing is to help a student become independent and confident in their own ability, rather than simply helping them get through a particular assignment or exam. A tutor should first understand where the student is struggling, explain things in a way that works for them, and then give them the opportunity to practise and work things out themselves. I also think it is important to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that is often how they learn best.
