What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the "lightbulb" moment when a complex mathematical concept suddenly clicks for a student. Math often carries a lot of anxiety, and I love helping students dismantle the belief that they "can't do math and other subjects." Guiding them as they build step-by-step problem-solving skills, regain their academic confidence, and transition from being anxious to self-reliant problem-solvers is the most fulfilling part of my teaching experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My primary strengths as a tutor are empathetic communication, deep subject mastery, and extreme patience. Backed by 8+ years of math tutoring—including my current role as a Monash University postgraduate math tutor—and a degree in international communication, I excel at deconstructing abstract math concepts into clear, intuitive, step-by-step logic. I adapt my teaching approach to fit each student's specific learning style and create a encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and build long-term confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence by shifting self-doubt into empowerment. Rather than forcing formula memorization, I teach core principles and logical reasoning so students can solve unseen problems independently. By reframing mistakes as stepping stones and actively diagnosing foundational gaps, I adapt my pacing to support each student's learning style.
