What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is making a connection with the student and watching as they progress from someone who lacks confidence and/or skill in the subject to someone who can confidently handle difficult problems with ease. As an outgoing, people orientated person working this closely with a student is a very rewarding experience. I am very passionate about maths so not only does tutoring allow me to make a difference to a student it allows me to share one of my passions. I am highly committed to my students and their success so watching them excel always makes my day.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My strengths as a tutor include
-Breaking problems into easy to understand steps
-Explaining concepts
-Developing problem solving strategies with the student
-Approaching problems in different ways to ensure the student is solving the problem in the best way for them
-Excellent communication with student and parents
-Highly prepared, punctual and devoted to my students
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is develop problem solving skills and to help them to make connections in their own mind, leading to greater retention in the long term. A tutorโs end goal shouldnโt be to teach a student how to work out a specific problem, it should be to get the student to a point where they can tackle difficult or unfamiliar problems confidently using problem solving strategies. A big part of this is encouraging the student and building up confidence in their abilities. It is also very important to get the student engaging with the subject.
