What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
By a long mile, seeing my student's confidence improve is the greatest feeling I have ever experienced as a tutor. I find that a massive issue with students is that they are often very bright, but lack the confidence to execute on questions and they can often find them intimidating. Hence, when I can show appropriate ways to tackle problems and boost their confidence I am filled with a sense of joy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Compassion, reliability and charisma. I am a very understanding tutor and often have to explain something in two or three different ways; which is the challenging part of the job. However, this compassion and understanding is what I love about it. I am also incredibly reliable. I always provide excellent advice and assistance, always punctual and am incredibly organised. I believe preparation is incredibly important for a tutoring session so being reliable and organised is crucial for a great tutor. Lastly, I am passionate about helping my students improve so I am energetic in my delivery.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is relate to them. Everyone is different and learns in a different way. Hence, you must adjust your method of teaching for each individual student. Some people are auditory, visual or written learners, some like algebra, calculus, or trigonometry. Moreover, if you are understanding of your students then they will be more comfortable exposing their academic weaknesses. Lastly, setting a great example for your students and remaining professional is fantastic for ensuring positive habits in the future.
